"Popped in to the Argyle for a pint (or two) and some food. It was early evening and the pub was moderately busy. I had a couple of pints of IPA, which were in good order, and a very tasty hot pork sandwich with apple sauce. Beer and sandwich were great." - Nick, June 2009
"This is a really lovely pub, staff are very friendly and helpful, service is faultless. Recommend the Sunday dinner." - Niki, March 2009
"I have just had a lovely lunch in the Argyll Garden, I was really suprised at how nice it is to sit in an area i usually use as a walk through. They even had strawberries and tomato plants in full bloom.
The food was good and my Dad enjoyed the ale.
Will def visit again." - Kemo, July 2007
"Spent 2 nights during regatta week at this excellent pub. Food was really good, home made and good value given the usual rip-off prices of the surrounding area. Not only that, but the landlord and his staff were very friendly and accomodating, even saving us a table at the height of the regatta crush. We were made very welcome and shall certainly be popping in again at our next Henley visit." - Garth & Angela, July 2007

"During the regatta this year I bumped in to some 'Hash House Harriers' in the Bird in Hand and followed them to the Argyle. I haven't been in the Argyle for a few years. I had a couple of pleasant pints and also enjoyed the small paved garden at the rear. I was surprised how quiet the pub was for a regatta Friday." - Nick, July 2006
"Popped in for a quick beer as part of a crawl of pubs in Henley. This pub has changed beyond recognition. Gone is the tartan carpet, the dark walls, and the stained glass window. Unfortunately all the changes are for the worse. The pub seems to have really gone down hill. Hardly anyone was in the bar and it was very quiet. On the plus side, the beer was good." - Nick, November 2002
"A few friends got together for a saturday night henley pub crawl and after visiting the most other pubs ended up in the argyll we had one of the best night outs ever they had a decent d.j and staff got involved in all the fun and games. very unusaul thesedays to see such a brilliant atomosphere. ***** five star." - Stevie, June 2002
"The Argyll is now under new management. The pub has had a refurbishment about a year ago and has a lovely beer garden at the rear. There is often different events going on. The food menu is excellent and served all day at the moment. Friendly staff with good customer service. A great pub now with a great atmosphere - well worth a visit. They also hod a fun quiz every Sunday evening" - Anon, October 2001
"I made a recent lunchtime visit to the pub. Had an enjoyable pint of Speckled Hen and a toasted cheese and onion sandwich in which the bread was hot and yet the cheese not melted! How did they do that?" - Nick, December 1998
"This is Henley's only Scottish theme pub, i.e, it has a tartan carpet and lots of pictures of kilted men on the walls. It's okay really, the quiz on Monday nights is worth going to if you're into that sort of thing and the staff are very amenable. Not exactly overflowing with atmosphere or charm, but you can't have anything and anyway it's much better than the nearby Three Tuns." - Graham, November 1997
"The only Scottish thing is it's name. Bit of a dive without much atmosphere I think. Full of 18 year olds. Only good thing about it is that it's opposite the cash point and it has some huge big round tables and lovely chairs on a split level bar area." - Luci, August 1996
"Horrible carpet. Must be 16 or under to enter." - Mary, July 1995
"I have used this pub quite a bit. Did reasonably good lunches although the carpet tended to destroy your appetite! It was a good pub from New Years Eve and Burns Night when they really played on the Scottish angle! One saving grace is that they do occasionally have Moorlands' Old Speckled Hen (5.2%) on tap." - Nick, July 1995
