The Two Brewers public house, Remenham, Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, UK."Now closed. Closed November 2002" - Nick, November 2002

"Brakspears is closing the pub and converting it in to offices. Criminal!" - Nick, November 2002

"I popped into the ''Brewers'' as the locals call it for quick pint with my drinking mate, Undies on a Friday afternoon. Due to the excellent running of the pub by the Landlady SUE and her quick wit and banter ( aswell as her fine food at very affordable prices) manged to stay for 5 hours.
The ''Black stuff'' (Guiness) is the best in Henley due to Sue having a good cellar man, John." - Jobbo, December 2001

"We walked through the door, the place went quiet, everybody turned round and looked at us ! We had a pint of Brakspears Bitter each at £2.20 and sat down and the pub returned to normal. There was a whole load of banter going on between the locals and the landlord which was very amusing and by the time we had finished our pints we were starting to be included in the conversation. If we'd have had another pint I suspect that it would have been difficult to leave until closing time.
Fairly typical, black and white, low beamed pub which does food both lunchtime and evening. Very pleasant.
We finished our pints, thanked the locals for the entertaining floorshow and continued our pub crawl. What a contrast to the horrorshow across the road (Little Angel)." - Ian & Kevin, October 2001

"Popped in for a couple of pints to meet a few mates of a one Mr Nick Jobson on Saturday; within 20 minutes my face looked like that of a Polar bear due to an hilarious contraption that the locals seemed to like.......these small towns!!!!!!! A further 20 mins passed (or so it seemed) and it was closing time and my legs didn't work. I have written to the Smithsoneian Institute to ask them to investigate the possibility of a small worm hole lurking in the Henley area that might explain the small rift in time differential!!! Best of luck to all who drink in her......" - Declan, December 2000

"The Two Brewers is a great little pub which avoids the hectic and sometimes yobbish clientele which often frequent the town centre pubs. Landlord John Emmet is an interesting character and it's difficult not to become engaged in interesting conversation. Ask for a rendition of the "Emmet shuffle" ...this will bring tears to your eyes. In fact ask any local for a performance - there's usually at least one in the pub. Most of the locals are fairly young and can certainly hold their Guinness it seems. On occasion, the Vodka also starts to flow and a recent Friday night binge saw one individual saluting Captain Smirnoff several times. Rumor has it his new carpet got a watering that night. Anyway, the Two Brewers is a decent pub with great food, thanks to Landlady Sue and is a quiet retreat (most of the time) from the usual town pubs. Parking is plentiful and John is happy for you to leave the car on the premises while doing a spot of shopping." - Daniel, December 2000

"I knew at the pub used to be great fun when Graham and Deanna were there, but I heard it went down hill when the next landlord arrived. Can I now tell you that the pub is back to it's best with the new landlord. Big thanks to him for his hospitality from my mates and myself." - Dave, February 1999

"I popped in for a quick pint in the 2nd January 1999. The pub was quiet. The few locals that were in were complaining of excessive partying two nights earlier. One chap turned up and apologised for his behaviour on the night of the 31st (must have been some party!). Had a pint of 'ordinary'. Not the best pint I have ever had!" - Nick, January 1999

"Yes it has reopened now run by one of the ex-bar staff and her husband who, incidentally, were at one time seriously interested in taking over the 'Three Horseshoes'. I have no further details on the Two Brewers except that Derek Tomlin ex-landlord is back the Baskerville Arms." - Martin, November 1996

"This is a pub that I hardly ever go in!!! NOT!!! (From what the others have said you may assume that I live there!) I actually consider The Brewers as my local! The pub is run by Graham and Deana with the bar assistance provided by a mixed bag of individuals (watch out for Mike Downs and Henry, with guest appearances by Luci!). The pub carries a good range of beers (Bitter, Special, Old and sometimes OBJ) and has a good selection of pub grub with Double Dog being a favourite (Sausages, chips and beans!). Although there is only one bar area there seems to be a number of different rooms, or areas, off it where different groups can congregate and meet!
Graham and Deana left the pub recently and I haven't been back to meet the new landlord!
The lights were seen on in the pub in October '96 so it may have reopened!" - Nick, October 1996

"The Landlord of the Two Brewers has been made bankrupt and it is closed whilst Brakspears find a new Landlord. Derek, the old Landlord, is now back at the Baskerville Arms, Shiplake from whence he came!!" - Martin, September 1996

"What can I say? You know this one as well as me...... Good pub I'd say...... Strip poker behind the bar and occasionally me serving which should be enough to entice anyone.
Well, that was before Graham and Deana left. Now, this little gem is ruined. Very 'locally', very unfriendly and the most hideous Xmas decorations I have ever seen were hanging in this pub. About 3 old people in there at most. On New Years Eve at their party there were about 10 (honest!). The only redeeming features are a) the food which is cheap and tasty and b) Mike Downing, the barman who serves there on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Ask him about his manly smell." - Luci, August 1996

"What can I say that you don't know a million times over. There is a group of people in the pub to be avoided. They all have red faces, are over 35 and should know better." - Mary, July 1995
